That's... the opposite of the story, isn't it? lol He reincarnated to get the fourth crest, which allows him to do different, stronger magic than his previous third crest. But the era he reincarnated into has been corrupted by demons playing the long game, like information wars on what crests are actually strong and which ones are weak. Hence the title. His fourth crest in this new era is called the crest of Failure, because demons are spreading false information and want the human society to be misinformed so they can just take over with no opposition and no one left to fight them.

The first crest, which seems to allow support type magic? is touted as the strongest and the fourth one as the weakest, even though the opposite is true in terms of raw power, though all the crests seem a bit specialized. I don't remember which ones do what specific types of magic though (I think the third one was focused on multi-shot type powers?). It's actually pretty interesting though. Maybe the best part about the anime is all the background world building info.

you got a couple facts wrong but still it's a good overall summary firstly the Mc had the first crest not the third the first crest specialized in creation as MCS words which is basically enchantments so it is the best in terms of mana amplification and magic effectiveness which is why he said is healing magic isn't as good and the third crest specializes in power so it's basically for strong direct attacks sorry if this is a bit complicated 😅😅

Its problem was that is was effectively a Chad that was just world building as he went along. The whole plot consisted of Mathias ass pulling solutions to otherwise impossible problems. May have worked as a gag comedy at best, but not so much for isekai shounen.

The gag comedy might have worked too, though it's still not replacement for even a half structures story line/plot. The character interaction was somewhat pathetic too. I watched it through once to give it a chance. But never again.

The manga is 1000x better, the anime rushed everything to fit as much as they could in 12 episodes

First, shikkakumon's anime was done very badly imo... They skipped a lot of good parts while trying to add too much romcom-ness...
Second, it's pretty impossible to beat Anos's level of Chad-ness, honestly speaking...
